You Already Care. Stay Top of Mind — Automate It
August 1, 2026
Rising takes action — so here's the action.
Hard truth first: every agent knows they should stay in front of their past clients. Send the card. Make the call. Reach out on the holidays. Almost nobody does it consistently. The problem was never knowing — it's that follow-up is the first thing to slip the second you get busy. Intention doesn't close that gap. A system does.
So stop relying on your memory and your willpower. Automate it. Here's how to build a follow-up machine that touches every past client, all year, whether or not you remember.
Layer 1 — Automated market reports (set once)
Have your CRM send every past client a market / home-value report on a set cadence (monthly or quarterly). Lofty's Market Snapshot report is built for this; kvCORE, BoldTrail, and Follow Up Boss have equivalents. Point it at your whole database, set the cadence, turn it on. Done — permanently.
Layer 2 — The holiday drip (do this today, it's the priority)
Everyone knows to reach out on the holidays. Most won't. So don't leave it to a good day — automate it. Set up a holiday campaign in your CRM that sends a warm message on every major holiday, via email or text, all year long. Build it once; it fires without you.
In your CRM, create a new drip / campaign / scheduled broadcast — name it "Past Clients — Holidays."
Add each holiday: New Year's, Valentine's, spring/Easter, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the December holidays.
Choose email or text per send (email for the full list; text only for contacts who've opted in — see guardrails).
Drop in a message for each (write the whole year at once with AI — prompt below).
Add your entire past-client list and turn it on.
Write the full year with AI:
Write warm, non-salesy holiday messages for a real estate agent to send PAST
clients. Cover: New Year's, Valentine's, Fourth of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, and the December holidays. For each, give me an EMAIL version
(60-90 words, with a subject line) and a TEXT version (under 40 words). Just
genuine connection — no market talk, no ask. Warm and human.
Paste them into the campaign, and your holiday follow-up runs itself for a year.
Prefer physical mail? Automate that too
"Everyone knows to send the card" is literally about mail — and a physical touch still lands differently than another email. You can automate that side too. A service like ReminderMedia handles the print program for you: a personally branded magazine (American Lifestyle) mailed to your list bimonthly, plus automated postcard campaigns you can time to the holidays. You customize the branding and pick the list; they design, print, and mail. Set it once and you're consistently landing on the coffee table, not just the inbox. It's also a strong option if you don't have a robust CRM, since it runs independently of one.
No CRM automation? Two moves
If your CRM can't schedule holiday sends (or you don't have one yet):
Use the prompt above to draft every message now.
Set one recurring ChatGPT Scheduled Task (Plus and up) as a weekly "holiday radar," so you at least send them by hand:
Every Monday at 8am, check whether a major US holiday falls within the next 10
days. If so, remind me to text my past clients and give me the warm, short
message to personalize and send. If not, reply "nothing this week."
Turn on notifications so it pushes to your phone. (No Plus? Drop the dates into your phone or Google Calendar as recurring reminders with the message pasted into the notes.)
Go further — the personal note (the gold standard)
Automation guarantees everyone gets touched — that's the floor, and most agents never even reach it. Once your drip is running, go deeper with your top relationships: hand-write a real note or send a personal text to the clients who matter most. Automation for everyone; a human touch for the few. That's how you win both reach and depth.
The guardrails — don't skip
Automated text raises the stakes: only text clients who've consented, always honor opt-outs, and know your state's rules plus TCPA/DNC before switching on a text drip. Email is the lower-risk choice for the full list. Verify any market numbers in the automated reports — you're the trusted advisor, not a bot. And keep the messages genuinely warm; automation is the delivery truck, not an excuse to sound like a robot.
Do this before you close your laptop today
Build the holiday drip. Write the year of messages with AI. Add your whole past-client list. Turn it on. In twenty minutes you've guaranteed that every person you've served hears from you all year — without depending on a busy day going your way.
That's the rise.
WE. RISE. TOGETHER.
